A friend of mine (interior designer Julie Goldman of J. Latter Design) posted an article from the New York Times online this morning - How to Tell When You're Over-propped. It talks about how people have become so self-conscious about styling their homes. Maybe a result of all the postings of interior spaces we see within social media? You'll be judged (harshly) if you don't have your home awesomely styled.
I must admit that I feel the pressure of keeping up with all of these amazingly styled spaces. I also wonder what they look like on days when they're not being photographed, and somewhere else in my head I wonder about how much credit card debt some of these people have in order to have such cool stuff (or is everyone loaded with cash). The grass really seems greener on the other side, but I know it is not.
My favorite take away quote from the article - “Can everyone stop trying to be so awesome? Can we just chill out?”
