The Sign Painter -- Watch & Read

There are lots of perks to running a craft-based business. One of them is getting sneak peaks at fun projects just waiting to explode on the art market. I'm not sure I can sit still until this fall, when Princeton Architectural Press will release Faythe Levine and Sam Macon's new documentary and book --  The Sign Painter.

Faythe's Handmade Nation inspired my love of the documentary-book combo. In this first project, she interviews modern artists around the country, who have been a part of the crafting revolution, finding roots in everything from music to thrift stores to granny's closet. So much fun!

Buy it!

Of course, I'm thrilled to see The Sign Painters, as Faythe and Sam follow the tradition of hand painted lettering and logos, and best of all, they just announced a forward by Ed Ruscha! I am hoping there will be a book tour and movie viewing event in Seattle. Join me?
